Show Teaser Trailer

SUPPORT ME

"I wanted a funky, driving song to get everyone going at the start of the show.  It originally started out as a piece of backing music that I planned to use in some of the lighter scenes between the cast.   It reflects the characeter's relational energy, and interplay.  As with several songs in this show, the backing track kept expanding, and it felt too good to not develop into a song."

“The song is partly a love letter to the Pet Shop Boys.  Lyrically, their songs are sharp and opaque at the same time.  It's not easy to write thematically, but also keep the ambiguity."

PATTERNS IN THE CODE

“This song came out of a backing track.  Originally it was for the scene where Sam forces Stats to play through different video games. When we did the first dev workshop, everyone got really into playing their lines against the instrumental.  Afterwards, I felt the scene would work better if the whole scene was performed through music.”

LOST AND FOUND

“The chorus started out as a small snippet I wrote during our previous show, Dissociated.  During the writing process it  transformed from being light, to holding an underlying melancholia, which is driven home by the lyrics.

I wanted something that sounded old school, but with more lyrical depth. “Leaning on a lampost” and “Songs for Swinging Lovers” were a big influence. In my fantasy life, the chorus will be sung in the stands at football matches.”

SKETCHES LOST IN TIME

“This song ushers in the last third of the show.  The character arcs come home to roost, and the emotional weight of the narrative steps up.”

"Sketches is about Aesha grieving for her sister.  However, you can also grieve for relationships that never were; from a personal perspective, this is what the song represents to me.  It's one of the quieter, reflective numbers, but it’s my favourite."
